Rubberband
Rubberband explores the motif of return, conscious or unconscious repetition as the source of auto-irony and frustration, as well as safety, stability and consolation provided by the familiar. Subconscious mechanisms are the source of self-reflection and imagination through the improvisation of text and movement, while the spaces of performative research open up through repetition over and over again. Motifs, behaviours and manners in continuous repetition of the same, yet always different, are affirmed through the everyday and the abstract. Repetition is therefore marked as an affinity to become something else, to escape from its own mechanism despite the fact it always returns to its source.
