HULU – Split is a professional association of visual artists, who work in the area of Split-Dalmatia County. It gathers artists of all artistic expression from painting, graphics and sculpture to multimedia art.
During more than seventy years of its existence – first as ULUH’s branch in Dalmatia, then as a branch of the Croatian Association of Artists, and today as HULU – Split, it contributes to the creation of the artistic life and promotes the visual arts by organizing individual and group exhibitions of its members and guest artists.
Large annual events are Split Salon, Art summer, the Biennale of Contemporary Croatian Graphics, Biennale of Small format.
In addition, HULU Split is engaged in publishing activities, and actively supports various forms of cooperation among artists at home and abroad.
Today HULU Split has more than 400 members, to whom it provides technical and expert assistance in the organization of exhibitions, informing them about tenders, represents members in organized and professional appearance before the institutions, represents their interests and assist them in achieving the status of independent artists.
Arts Council of association currently regulates the exhibition program in only two galleries – Salon Galić Gallery and Basement Halls of Diocletian palace, regularly launches major art exhibitions, supports many institutions, associations and festivals and participates in many art projects.
