HULU - Split is a national professional association based in Split that brings together artists from all over Croatia working in all visual art media, from painting, graphics, and sculpture to multimedia and interdisciplinary art. The association also includes a Curatorial Section that brings together art historians, art critics, and art theorists.

For over seventy years of its existence – formerly as a branch of ULUH for Dalmatia, then as a branch of HDLU, and today as HULU – Split contributes to the creation of exhibition artistic life and promotes artistic creation by organizing solo and group exhibitions of its members and guest artists.

In addition, HULU-Split is involved in publishing activities and actively supports various forms of collaboration among artists domestically and abroad.

Today, HULU-Split has over 500 members to whom the Association offers technical and professional assistance in organizing exhibitions, informs them about calls for submissions, enables members to present themselves professionally in an organized manner before institutions, represents their interests, and helps them achieve the status of independent artists.

HULU manages and organizes the exhibition program at Split's oldest gallery –  Salon Galić.In addition to the regular exhibition program at Salon Galić, HULU regularly organizes guest exhibitions, initiates larger art events, and supports many institutions, associations, and festivals with co-organizational support.

As a professional association, HULU continuously promotes visual art, protects artists' freedom of action, develops collaborations and partnerships, educates the public, participates in the adoption of regulations related to visual arts, and protects artists' moral and material rights.
