Andrea Resner i Petar Grimani / Merry Christmas & Happy and successful New Year 2017. - Wish you Resner/Grimani

Andrea Resner and Petar Grimani have started their cooperation two years ago, spontaneously, on the first winter’s day (21.12.2014),  and it was followed by the series of mutually created artworks. They started to call themselves Resner/Grimani, playing with the terminology of corporate systems and putting on fluorescent suits, after which they invasively started to place their bodies in space.

The original interest of their cooperation was the study of female-male relationships, animus – anima; presentation and representation of oneself through other, through reflection, through narcissistic selfie photograph of a social network.  That which came out of this cooperation was presented in Split. The different personalities, worldviews, and experiences intertwine and map out in their work, moving the boundaries of others and the pair itself. By that, the amalgam of some new poetry is created.  The mixing of private and intimate with the public, exhibitionistically and artificially conducted, is transported to another medium primary in the medium of painting that so becomes the singular entity that lives its life further just by interpretation. How much are we occupied by reflection and captured by the enchantment of painting just from reading the reality, and how much are we really opened for reality? How much are we trapped inside the premises, inside of wire that sets us apart from others?

The fences we place inside ourselves or are placed by outside programming are the same ones we placed on the borders of countries. We block the movement of physical bodies, while the mind can pass through all boundaries. How safe do we feel in our environment, in this world, in our body? By searching the safe place, can we find it inside ourselves and then externally emanate this same safety and peace?  Because home is not a place but feeling. The feeling of safety that we can offer to each other.
