Marko Majstorović / Izjave
What a releif! . there is no more art, painting does not exist. only creation a word as an elite shamanism.
Marko Majstorović
Majstović’s figuration is rich in symbolism and coded messages. It is an entirely private symbolism, in other words semantic codes, which acquire their true meaning only in the context of the author’s individual life views and accordingly his visual contemplation. The artist sometimes intertwines personaly experienced life realities, condensing them in a certain way. In this manner a touch of surrealism is brought into these initially realistic motives, both in the sense of meaning and purely visually. Nevertheless, the relationship between realistic and surrealistic in the work of Majstorović will never slide to some fatal aporia. The same applies to other ambivalencies we come accross all the time in the work of this highly interesting painter. Namely, Majstorović succeeds in being both extrovert and introvert at the same time, apart from having elements of classical balance and romantic abundance.
General and individual intertwines in his work all the time, springing out of each other and comlementing . However, all the above mentioned content characteristics, however, acquire their full strength and suggestivity only through his formal-performative exellence. In a word, Majstorović is an outstanding painter who deals easily with colours, lines and planes – applying collage and assemblage in his painting if needed – combining them in a virtuoso way into complex, dynamic and visually extremely impressive compositions.
The painting word of Marko Majstorović is a place where harsh reality meets imagination, where subject and object become one.
