After the summer break, HULU and the Center for Culture and Lifelong Learning Zlatna vrata are continuing this year's collaboration in the field of contemporary art with the project ”Guerilla Gourmet” multimedia artist Line Kovačević.The exhibition opens on Thursday, September 21st at 8:00 PM in the exhibition space The loggia can be viewed until 10/13/2023. As part of the exhibition opening, a performance by the author is also planned. The exhibition curator is Olga Majcen Linn. Admission is free.
”In an artistic context, guerrilla actions are linked to street art, performance, and activist art, and involve unconventional, unauthorized, and sometimes disturbing performances. Guerrilla performances and artworks often feature the aesthetic characteristics of ad hoc preparation and quick street execution followed by escape. For the artist and designer Lina Kovačević, the form of rebellion is speculative design, and the actions she carries out in public spaces are complemented by objects – elaborate objects of desire she designed for this purpose, completely moving away from guerrilla aesthetics. However, even more interesting is the anticipated outcome of this rebellion – the achievement of closeness.”

Lina Kovacevic works in new media, images, and objects. She was born in Zagreb, graduated from the Department of Design in Zagreb, and obtained her Master's degree from the Central St. Martins School of Art and Design in London. She has exhibited in domestic and international exhibitions such as Milan Triennale, Paris Design Week, London Design Week, and as DJ She performed at festivals such as Club Transmediale, Berlin and Contact Europe, Vienna.
Her work is often described as subversive, critical, yet witty, with a poetic streak on both an individual and collective level. Parallel to her internationally awarded graphic design, she created web installations like “Edit this banner,” robotic installations “Raymond robot designer,” and the installation “Online Romantic Dinner Set,” which was gifted by the Croatian Minister of Culture to the French Minister of Culture on the occasion of the exhibition Croatia La Voici in Paris. She has exhibited in domestic and international exhibitions, and as DJ She has performed at festivals such as Club Transmediale, Berlin; Contact Europe, Vienna; Steirische Herbst and ExitSpace, Graz; Music Biennale Zagreb, UrbanFestival Zagreb and others.
For her work, she has received awards such as the ID Annual Design Review, Art Directors Club, Magdalena, Red Dot, and the Young Guns NY award.
