The exhibition by academic painter Nikola Pjevačević is the first in a series of several exhibitions with which HULU-Split, at Salon Galić, will present young artists at the beginning of their artistic careers. After his first solo exhibition at Gallery SC in Zagreb, Nikola Pjevačević is visiting Split with an exhibition. ”Sunset.

Due to the epidemiological situation, the official opening will not take place, and the gallery will be open to the public from Wednesday, February 3rd at 7:00 PM.  Admission is free.

Pjevačević's painting ostensibly leans towards the ideas advocated by philosophical pessimism, and the depictions on his canvases seem like a veil of the afterlife, reminding us of inevitable death as the ultimate end to life's pain and suffering. However, from a philosophical perspective, the artist is closer to the philosophy of Stoicism, which strives for a path devoid of emotional suffering, the triumph of reason over passion, and imperturbable introspection.
